WHAT ARE THE COMMON QUALITIES OF SUCCESSFUL TOPPERS IN RECENTLY DECLARED RESULTS?

The results of JEE Mains' first attempt were released recently. Though the final ranks come after the second attempt, the percentiles are out, and we get a fair idea about the performance of the candidates based on their percentiles.

We see newspaper articles and social media posts where toppers are giving their interviews. Out of all these interviews, we have summarised some common aspects highlighted by toppers and other successful students. These are -

1.Self-study, revision and mock tests

These students attend classes regularly. When they return home, they keep a schedule of self-study in the form of revision, attempting a variety of questions, and completing homework given to them daily. They also attempt tests regularly, do analysis and work harder on their weaker points or topics.

2. Minimum distractions and time management

These students manage their routines and utilise their time very well. This comes with scheduling their timetables every day and with no or minimum distractions. Most of them keep themselves away from mobile, and social media or use it minimum for study-related uses.

3. Enjoying the process with happiness

These students have clarity about preparation and don’t take it as a burden. Since they enjoy the process and undertake studies regularly, concepts are much clearer, and they confidently discuss the doubts and concepts among their peer group. They also do not hesitate to approach teachers about their doubts.

4. Positive mindset and self-motivation

These students have a positive mindset and do not doubt the preparation process or outcome of the preparation. They are self-motivated. The role of their families is very important in keeping a positive environment around them.

5. Good teachers support

It is a blessing to get the support of good teachers during this preparation. Often, a teacher can judge the child's personality and level of preparation and guide them positively. Good communication between teachers and parents/students themselves is helpful.

6. Good parental support

These children also usually have good parental support. Good parental support in the form of unconditional love for their child, helping them with a good study environment at home and knowing how to keep the mental stress low for their child is very important.

So, it is important to understand the preparation of JEE/NEET and their process and plan for the preparation once enrolled for it. Considering all these points, apart from regular studies, good mental health goes a long way in achieving success in the future.
