What are some must do things for upcoming ‘Golden 3 months’ for students appearing in JEE/NEET 2024?

The next few months are very crucial for the students preparing for JEE and NEET 2024. We discuss some major concerns and must do things that can help you get the best results.

1. Prepare the best plan for studying at home

With completion or near completion of syllabus for most coaching by now, the frequency of lectures reduces. Students have no fixed schedule and time is wasted unknowingly while at home. It’s very important to make a time table for 10-12 hours of self study at home (refer to our earlier blog to make a time table) similar to your coaching times. These are the ‘golden months’ and its full utilization is needed.

2. Decide between giving all part portion tests and full major tests

Everywhere it is a routine to take weekly part tests or full portion tests depending on the batch of the student. These test results give the student a reasonable idea about their preparation and help them identify their weaker and stronger topics. While it is important to attempt these tests, if a lot of syllabus or modules are yet to be completed, they can skip a few tests to complete these topics. It is important to try to balance but not skip tests completely.

3. Decide about attending revision schedules

Most of the good coaching systems have revision schedules in place for 2-3 months. Students are confused whether to attend them. They should attend for a few days and analyse whether it’s helpful. Properly planned revision schedules at home in sync with coaching schedules can give better results and doubts can be cleared simultaneously. But many students lag behind in portion completion and they feel that their time is wasted in revision classes. So if you feel going to revision is not providing any help, it is better to plan home study and to visit the coaching centers to clear your doubts with prior appointments if possible.

4. Plan for upcoming Board exams

Soon it will be time for various 12th board exams from January and it is important to include boards study time regularly. Most of the topics match with JEE Mains and NEET syllabus, and so it might be better to sync your board topics with JEE and NEET topics at the same time.

5. Keep away all distractions and prioritise health

With most of the time spent at home, it becomes easier to relax, eat on time and hydrate well. A good diet and sleeping on time goes a long way in your preparation. Be strict with your mobile usage and have fixed timings for its use. If you have group discussions on WhatsApp or telegram groups, it’s necessary to fix timings and limit your usage. Your self study time is most important.

So to conclude, plan your days, cover up your backlogs, complete your modules, attempt tests and start preparing for board exams. And do not forget to take the help of teachers and mentors!
