What is different in Kota for students preparing for competitive exams compared to other cities?
A parent thinks about the option of Kota whenever their child prepares for JEE or NEET exams. We highlight the pros and cons of the preparation done at Kota versus other cities.
Pros:
1. Study environment
Everything is about JEE and NEET preparation in Kota and it is easy to get access to a study-focused environment, study materials and the best of the teachers. Few bigger cities have similar kinds of preparation but still in many other cities, the options to find coaching classes and good teachers are limited.
2. Commuting and travelling
Kota is a hub for competitive exam preparation, and many hostels are available near the classes. Travelling is avoided, or it is minimal. In other cities, a student might have to travel long distances to reach the right coaching classes or may even end up joining whatever option is near their residence.
3. Options/choices for preparation
Kota is full of well-established coaching classes, with their head office acting as the main preparation centre. Other cities have limited choices and options for coaching classes, and not all of them have the best facilities.

4. Family life and emotional health
Most of the students who take admission in the city of Kota, stay in hostels. Few students are accompanied by mothers or other family members. This makes them feel sad, and many times, they miss their parents. This is not true when students stay with their parents and prepare in the same city.
5. Competitive environment
Kota has thousands of students preparing for JEE or NEET exams, which creates a tough competitive environment for any student from the beginning.This may be a positive thing for preparation enhancement but sometimes acts as a negative factor, and students feel very low, under pressure and not up to the mark. Comparatively, the number of students in other cities is lower, and a student doesn’t compete in the same competitive environment. Though it may not give the correct judgement about the preparation, students feel more relaxed mentally.
It is a personal choice to select the city, institute or private teachers for JEE and NEET preparation, but it is advisable to do some research for your children before making a final decision for their admissions.
