Students face a lot of pressure and stress during preparation for competitive exams. This pressure can come from family members, friends, or even from within. While it is true that the process is stressful, we cover multiple ways in which you can make the process more fun and less stressful. We are also here to answer a question that many students have while preparing is the effort of getting into a top college worth it? What is different about these colleges?
1. Likeminded and motivated people (good peer group)
Ask any student from the top colleges such as IITs, NITs, AIIMS, NLUs, and IIMs, and they will all tell you that the kind of people who come to these places make the place really special. At these colleges, you will find very motivated and driven people and people who are likeminded to you. Such a peer group will help you push yourself harder, unlock your potential and may even help you find a co-founder for a new idea!
2. Rigorous education system (discipline)
Top colleges have top faculty teaching in them and one of the benefits of being in these colleges is the rigour of the education system. These top colleges ensure that you gain practical experience and are conceptually clear about all topics. You will do some research related to the topics in class, discuss with some of the smartest minds and apply these concepts during training and internships. After doing such rigorous studies, many students also go to top foreign universities to pursue a Master’s or PhD degree.
3. Relatively lower financial burden (high value for money)
Many of the top public or government colleges have lower financial burdens as compared to some of the foreign or private colleges across India. This lower financial burden helps receive quality education at a lower cost and achieve a good return on investment. You could recover the fees of these colleges after getting jobs and graduating from these colleges.
4. Brand name and job opportunities (college brand gives personal brand)
Many of these colleges have a strong brand name and reflect high quality. When you graduate from these colleges, people believe in the brand or 'tag' of the college and you would generally see favourable job opportunities. For this, you would also need to work hard and make yourself knowledgeable or skilled at these institutions, but you can definitely find the resources for that.
5. All-round development (all-round learning)
These top colleges help in the all-round development of students. At IITs, many students focus on extra-curricular activities and even go into government roles or pursue foreign MBAs or other non-engineering roles. This is possible because such colleges have multiple opportunities to participate in activities such as fests, clubs, teaching assistant or research assistant positions or other things. Such involvements help in the all-round development of the person and help in many things in career too.
For these reasons, we believe that the outcome of tough preparation for competitive exams is worth the effort. We wish all students the best for their journeys!
