HOW DO TOPPERS PREPARE A TOPIC? 10 SIMPLE AND EFFECTIVE STEPS TO MAKE ANY JEE/NEET TOPIC STRONG

Both JEE and NEET have a vast syllabus often students find it difficult to understand a topic properly.

So it is very important to start preparing your topic from day one. In this blog, we tell you 10 steps to understand how a topper makes his topic stronger.

These steps may look simple yet are very effective.

1. TOPPERS MAKE GOOD CLASS NOTES

Toppers always listen to their classes attentively and try to retain maximum things from the class and write maximum points during class lectures because they know that their teachers tell the best points. They never think of going through a PDF of notes later.

2. TOPPERS TRY TO COMPLETE THEIR NOTES ON THE SAME DAY

Toppers go through their notes and complete them the same day if they couldn’t write during class. It is always a good practice to highlight important points and formulas. It may take 15 minutes only.

3. TOPPERS ALWAYS CLEAR THEIR CONCEPTS

Toppers generally make a note of concepts not understood the same day and try to clear them the same day or before the next lecture. This helps them in understanding the next lecture better. It is very important to clear your concepts before moving to the next lecture or topic.

4. TOPPERS REFER TEXTBOOKS TO UNDERSTAND CONCEPTS

When toppers don't understand a concept, they do not shy away from referring to the textbook/module theory to understand those concepts. It is very important to understand the concept before jumping to questions. It is always a good practice to ask for such help from teachers, parents and mentors as well.

5. TOPPERS COMPLETE THEIR HOMEWORK

Toppers generally complete their daily and weekly homework on time as given by the teacher. This helps them learn along with the lectures and avoid backlogs.

6. TOPPERS COMPLETE MODULES/ASSIGNMENTS

Toppers always cover the full topic from modules or books. This gives exposure to all varieties of questions and helps in the best preparation.

7. TOPPERS ATTEMPT A GOOD NUMBER OF QUESTIONS

Toppers practice at least 200-250 questions per topic for good preparation. Sometimes they may even go up to 500 questions! Attempting questions helps them know how well their topic is prepared.

8. TOPPERS CLEAR THEIR DOUBT QUESTIONS

Completing homework on time gives toppers the confidence to clear doubt questions with the teacher. They also participate or listen actively during doubt lectures.

9. TOPPER MAKE SHORT NOTES

Toppers make short notes over the weekends or on some fixed days as decided. They also leave blank spaces for extra points to be added later.

10. TOPPERS REVISE REGULARLY

To keep themselves updated, toppers revise highlighted points, formulas and definitions regularly.

Finally, what gives them the extra edge?

Solving:

Previous year questions(PYQ)

Topic wise assignments(TWA)

Topic wise tests(TWT) and higher level books.
