For JEE and NEET 2024/25 aspirants: How is JEE and NEET preparation different from boards?

Right now, it’s time for most of the class X students to start their new journey for JEE/NEET. Class XI students have already been promoted to class XII and now time is limited for them as well.

It’s very important to understand the fact that preparation for JEE/NEET is different from preparation for board exams knowing this can help you improve your performance.

We mention some points of difference between the preparation for the two exams -

1.Syllabus is large

Although three subjects have chapters based on board topics, extra concepts are taught for JEE and NEET exams. So including time for self-study in your daily routine is very important from the beginning.

2. Syllabus coverage is fast

During JEE and NEET classes, a teacher tries to cover a good amount of portion in the given 2-3 hours of each lecture. So, speed is fast and it is important to cope up with it. Trying your best to avoid backlogs is important.

3. Individual attention is difficult

Large number of students prepare for these exams and getting individual attention and guidance is difficult. You shouldn’t feel sad about anything and should approach the teacher whenever required.

4.Solving questions is equally important as theory

Many students revise the class notes and attempt very few questions on a daily basis. They think that they are studying for many hours but still not getting good marks in tests. It’s very important to attempt questions regularly as understanding the applications of theory is very important.

5.Weak concepts can become a big challenge

If a student doesn’t understand theory well, their whole topic remains weak and solving questions gets affected. Try to refer to a book to understand theory better, approach teachers and solve your issues in a timely manner.
