Do you have doubts about your own coaching during JEE/NEET preparation?

Students usually enroll with coaching institutes for their JEE and NEET preparation. We have seen that many times it is difficult for students and parents to believe in one coaching/teaching system. They compare them with others and this gives them anxiety.

Here we give a few points to tell you how each coaching is unique, have their own ways of teaching and how believing in one system at a time can give you better results. Coaching classes may differ in following points with each other -

1.Topic selection

There are differences in topic selection that are taught in class XI and XII by coaching classes. For example, in some coaching classes calculus of maths is started much earlier than others. Do check the order of topics before selecting a coaching institute.

2.Time to complete topics and whole syllabus

Few coaching classes complete the topics at a faster pace. Your portion gets completed faster here. In other classes, the topics are covered a little slower to help the child understand them slowly but thoroughly at that time only. It’s better to choose strategy as per your own coaching classes.

3.Frequency of tests

Many institutes have weekly tests while others have tests conducted once in 15 days or once a month. It is important to attempt tests as per your capacity but give them whenever you have time. The more important thing is to analyze them and correct the mistakes. Once the portion is completed, you can attempt test series from other classes as well.

4. Emphasis on board preparation

Some coaching classes prepare for boards along with JEE or NEET preparation while others give separate time for board preparation one or two months before the class XI or XII exams. You have to prepare anyway but it depends on you which system you prefer.

5.Segregation and batch size

Some coachings have a policy of making different batches based on scores in regular tests. The batch size may differ and is an important factor. Though it is important to put similar minds together, many students feel demotivated. These points are important and you must give this a thought before choosing your coaching institute.

We can conclude that most coaching institutes try to provide the best environment to their students. If you feel confused, meet them and discuss the problems or take the help of seniors or mentors such as Mentor and Mom :)
