Do you feel mental health challenges during JEE and NEET preparation?

JEE and NEET examinations are tough and there is a lot of competition from students around. While preparing for these exams, it is very important to keep your mind fit for daily studies, mock tests and the final exam as well.

To stay mentally fit during this preparation, there are small steps that students can take such as exercising, taking breaks and eating healthy. In this blog, we give 5 simple tips to keep your mind fit during JEE and NEET preparation -

1. Studying with focus and taking regular breaks

It is important to take breaks while studying and avoid long hours of studying at one time. This is to avoid tiredness and lack of focus after studying for a long time. We recommend studying for 1-2 hours and then taking a short break to maybe take a bath, eat some healthy snacks, and interact with family members before sitting for another round.

2. Have positive competition with your peers

Many students feel low when they see their friends performing better in tests. Instead of feeling insecure, better try to learn their ways and methods and try to discuss with them.

3. Staying curious during lectures

As most of the time mental stress is due to inability to unde a topic properly. So staying curious and actively listening to lectures helps in training your mind for long stretches of concentration and understanding the topic properly. When you understand better, you can discuss your doubts with teachers and friends and it will give you happiness.

4. Eating healthy and avoiding long breaks

Biggest mistake is not eating properly or not eating on time. Eating healthy food, fruits like bananas and dry fruits and nuts can help in improving your mental health and sharpness of the mind. Another thing that helps is avoiding long breaks between meals as it may lead to mental fatigue due to hypoglycemia or low sugar levels.

5. Practice exercise/meditation and sleeping well

Practicing exercises or meditating for even a short duration in the morning or evening can help in improving blood circulation and preparing you for the day. It also takes your mind away from all distractions and improves focus for morning studies. Having a good 7-8 hours of sleep is very important as it refreshes our mind.

With these tips, your mind will become fitter and better trained for studying long hours during the revision period in 12th standard towards the end of your preparation. Having a healthy mind is just as important as having a healthy body and taking good care of your mind is very important!
