NO! It won't! We tell you in fact how studying for board exams is helpful for JEE and NEET preparation especially for all students who are going to appear for board exams in 2022. 1. Topics for competitive exams are mostly same for Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Biology Whether JEE Mains, Advanced, NEET or even state level exams, basic and important topics are the same. Even if you have missed out reading your board exam books due to integrated courses by coaching classes, now is the right time to focus on these books and practice their solved questions. 2. Solving of questions is good practice Though the approach to solving a question is different for board and competitive exams, it still gives a lot of practice that helps later on for competitive exams. Writing all the steps is required for board exams which is not for competitive exams but that too helps in clearing concepts and in practice. 3. NCERT or other board books cover a lot of syllabus Most topics and portions covered in board books are similar to each other and make the foundation for competitive exams. Follow your books thoroughly and solve your doubts in them. Many times queries or doubts related with competitive preparation are solved by reading these books. 4. Understanding theory and formulas helps you It’s good to refer to board exam books especially for physics, chemistry and biology to understand theory and clear doubts. In some cases, direct formula based questions come in competitive exams also. 5. Other subjects are also helpful and specific time can be allotted for them Generally, students feel that they just have to clear other subjects like English or optional subjects. These subjects are also helpful in future higher studies. So wisely allot your time and try to prepare for them in a given time frame. 6. Previous year board paper questions also help in preparation for both board and competitive exams The board books are a good reference for some topics like Optics, Surface Chemistry, Hydrocarbons, p-Block, PnC, Probability, etc.
