Are you worried in the final lap of preparation for JEE and NEET 2024?

Now is a crucial time for the students preparing for JEE and NEET 2024. Well-planned strategies during this time can bring out the best from the two years of preparation for any student. It has been seen that many students get nervous during this final lap of preparation. We tell you the most common worries students face in this phase and how one should handle the situation.

1. Worry of getting low marks in full portion mock tests

As the syllabus is over now, coachings give full portion mock tests. These tests may lead to a drop in the marks many times. This happens due to incomplete topics or incomplete revisions by students. As we have pointed out in our earlier blogs, rather than getting worried, one should analyse their paper. These tests can be used to identify weaker topics and work on them. This can help allocate time to weaker topics during revision, as those topics may take longer to cover. You may also come to know whether you need to understand concepts again for particular topics.

2. Worry of the nearing boards exams

With only a few weeks left for board exams, students worry about prioritising board and competitive exam preparation. It is suggested to take out time separately and prepare a proper timetable including both the preparations. Balancing is key now, and boards should also be given sufficient preparation time. Good board preparation is also helpful for students taking the NEET and JEE Mains exams.

3. Worry of balancing JEE Mains and Advanced preparation for all topics

This point is important for students appearing for JEE and not for students appearing for NEET. A student may feel that there is less time to do a complete revision of the entire syllabus, and there is still time for the JEE Advanced exam, so they skip the advanced level preparation for many topics and prepare for Mains and boards. It is advisable to prepare Mains level portion for maximum topics and Advanced level portion for stronger topics. This varies from student to student, and help from a mentor can be taken. This also needs daily and strict planning.

4. Whether to attend revision lectures or crash course or not

Coaching classes plan final crash courses or revision plans in these last few months. Mostly, two topics are covered every day. As students struggle with backlogs, completion of modules and upcoming mock test preparation, they find it really hard to cover everything. They sometimes feel that by attending revisions, they may waste their time. It is suggested to start attending and judge the level of topics covered. You may benefit from attending the sessions for your weaker topics. Strong topics can be revised by yourself. You can also attempt assignments and discuss your doubts. Finally, to get maximum benefits from your preparation, you can align your self-study with coaching schedules.

It is important to continue the preparation enthusiastically on this final lap and not be disappointed. Try to find out weaknesses, work on them and plan well every day. Eating and sleeping well should also be given priority to maintain good health and keep diseases away. Don’t hesitate to take the help of mentors and teachers.
