ARE YOU MANAGING YOUR TIME AS TOPPERS DO FOR JEE/NEET EXAMS?

It is very important to plan and utilize our time during JEE and NEET preparation. Planning each day to each hour to each minute is important many times. Similarly micro planning about hours spent on each subject during self study, number of questions attempted in a given time frame during homework practice are equally important.

In order to showcase our best potential at the end of our preparation, we are here to tell you how toppers give importance to managing their studies at various levels.

5 ways in which toppers optimize their preparation:

1.Toppers perfectly plan their number of study hours per day

Generally, students spend an average of 8-10 hours of study(including lectures)per day. This duration can be as low as 5-6 hours to as high as 15-16 hours per day.

Toppers generally calculate their number of study and non study hours and try to reach their best levels. Even if you increase your time by half an hour each week, it will add up to great benefits.

2.Toppers allocate time wisely to each subject

Many times we see that children give more time to their stronger subjects like biology in NEET and maths in JEE and give lesser time to other subjects like physics or chemistry.

Knowing that the weightage of each subject is equal in the final exam, toppers give balanced time equally to Maths/ Biology, Physics, Chemistry including Organic, Inorganic and Physical chemistry. This is most important during preparation.

3.Toppers are aware of the time allotted to theory and questions

Practicing questions is as important as reading the theory. These competitive exams usually don’t ask direct questions and so practising a good amount of questions especially questions based on 2-3 concepts together help in preparation.

4.Toppers make a note of the number of questions per hour they solve

Making a note of the number of questions solved per hour is a very important step in competitive exam preparation. You may be able to do 30 questions in one hour or 15 questions per hour depending on the toughness of the question. Toppers usually pre-calculate the time they will require and this helps them to plan their day better and helps them a lot during the actual exam.

5.Toppers are always finding scope for better time management

Is it important to take breaks and enjoy your journey so that you don’t come under stress but we have noticed that within a given time frame, simply planning differently gives you a better split of study and non-study hours. Try to find how you can manage your time better or take help in doing so.

So with a perfect and wise planning of the number of study hours per day and the number of questions attempted per hour or so on gives you sharp focus and alertness for your preparation and you can do smart studies.
